Below you’ll find further workshop and speaking information, as well as a variety of services to help you navigate the publishing world, tailored to you as a writer and/or artist. The list below reflects the types of personalized offerings I can provide to an individual or creative team, but can be mixed and matched to fit your needs. For multiple projects or larger groups, booking a workshop is recommended.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT & INTRO TO PITCHING - ($200+)

Have a story you’re passionate about, but new to pitching?* Learn about the pros and cons of traditional, indie, and direct market publishing, what the pitch process entails and the necessary anatomy of an industry-standard graphic novel proposal. Can include a review of any materials you supply, with feedback on your story arc, setting, and characters that can be discussed via call.

* = This is especially useful for folks without an agent, or who may be on the fence about getting one, as a solid pitch often speeds this process up.

FULL PROPOSAL REVIEW - ($250+)

Proposal in good shape and feeling ready to pitch? This review includes a detailed evaluation of your current pitch materials, story, synopsis, supplemental artwork, sample pages, world building, etc. to make the most competitive and compelling proposal possible.

SENSITIVITY READ - (price varies depending on length)

Assessment of your pitch (including both writing and artwork) for authenticity and care. Can offer insight on working class, lower class, mixed race, mixed Black, queer, and/or nonbinary characters, as well as rural, small town, and/or big city settings and sociopolitical climates of the US.

WORKSHOPS & SPEAKING

I have led workshops for children, teens, and adults entailing:

  • comic, zine, and general art-making

  • industry & labor education in publishing and animation

  • cooking demonstrations alongside the subjects of food, foodways, and history

and have spoken on much of the same subject matter, as well as:

  • storytelling

  • LGBTQ, BIPOC, and disability equity in the arts

  • the intersections of art and science communication (STEAM)

Commissions are currently closed. However I can sometimes make exceptions for projects that are particularly up my alley, so if you are a grassroots organizer or educator looking to get more folks involved in movement work, feel free to get in touch.
